The first thing to consider when choosing your stone is the type of application you are working with. Will this stone be stacked like brick, or will it be used as a veneer? Are you using stone with brick, block, stucco, siding, etc? You may also choose to install the stone "drystack" like the picture below to the right. This can mean a mix of the two application methods. Please don't hesitate to call our office so that we may answer any installation questions you may have.
NATURAL STONE FOR WHICH APPLICATION?
The builder stone (3"-5" thickness) usually gives about 40 -45 sq ft per ton. Builder stones are used on applications where brick could be used. Click HERE to see different stone color and shape options.
The thin stone varies usually between 1" - 2.5" thickness and can usually be installed anywhere where stucco can be used. Click HERE to see more thin stone options.

NATURAL STONE AVAILABLE IN DIFFERENT SHAPES
The first picture is considered an irregular shape. This is the most common and universal. We have available about 50 different colors, thick (3"-5") and thin (1.25"-2.5").
The second picture is of sawcut stone. This means the stones are cut with a wet saw on top and bottom to give you a particular size. For example on this house, the sizes of this blue/black limestone are 4", 6", & 8 1/2" in height. The lengths are random, but usually about 24" long (to be easily broken or cut shorter if desired). The thickness is 3"-5" for a builder stone or about 2" for veneer stone.
The third picture is of chopped stone, which is similar to the sawcut stone in that it is more or less rectangular shaped. Chopped stone has broken edges though, not perfectly straight cuts. Also sizes are not exact, but generally within the same 4"-8" in height. There will always be at least one side between 3"-5" so that the stone may be easily stacked on a brick ledge as if it were brick.
